"Structural Conflict refers to a situation in which what you want is at odds with something else you want. The more you push toward one, the more you swing back in the opposite direction toward the other and vice versa producing a pendulum effect."

"Most of this CD is comprised of first takes. Things went smoothly and I didn't have to tell the musicians very much. But this particular song just wasn't happening for some reason... it's hard to explain, it just didn't feel right. So after two unsatisfying takes, without warning,... I suddenly counted off the song much faster than we had planned on doing it. It's hard to believe everyone even started together. No one including me saw it coming... it just happened. The result was a much more natural take. It's definitely a testament to the caliber of musicians I chose. Good musicians are looking for the music in everything."
